Rey Sanchez

Safety Supervisor

Rey Sanchez’ thirty-year career in the Sonoma County vineyard industry is broad-based. Born and raised in Oaxaca, Mexico, he immigrated to the United States at 19-years-old to improve his education. “I studied at Santa Rosa Junior College and earned viticulture certification. Rey worked for 11 years at Vineyard Industry Products selling supplies. “I was able to interact with grape growers throughout California, Oregon and Washington, sharing ideas, experience and innovations in grape growing,” says Rey. “Mother Nature dictates everything, but viticulture is site-specific. The industry keeps evolving.” Bevill Vineyard Management hired Rey in 2013; he is in charge of new vineyard installations. “Duff understands the talent that each individual has to offer and he hires employees to be integral to the company,” he says. “The company as a whole stays on top of things, learning what is new and promising. And our clients can expect consistency, a balance in their vineyards, growth and yield.” An active member of the Sonoma County Grape Grower Association, Rey has judged the organization’s annual pruning competition every year since the inception. He resides in Windsor with his wife and four children.
